October Book Haul

Hello there, fellow bookworms! New month means new books. I am lucky enough to have been able to buy a few books I’ve been wanting to read for a long time but never got around to or forgot about them on my ‘To-read’ shelf on Goodreads, and two of this past October releases. Alas, I was not able to purchase most of the newly released books I wanted due to several personal reasons –  hence this small haul – but I am extremely thankful that I am finally able to immerse myself in new worlds and characters that other readers are already familiar with and keep talking about. This month I welcome to my bookshelf:

This Darkness Mine by Mindy McGinnis

This was an October release that I absolutely HAD to get my hands on and when I did I couldn’t put it down until the last word of the last page. I am planning to review this soon, so stay tuned if interested.

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

Also an October release and definitely at the top of my TBR list.

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

I know I am late to the party on this one, but better late than never. I have such high hopes for this book, though, I’m scared to be disappointed.

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

Another party I’m late to, but there were many reasons stopping me from buying and reading this book before. First of all … a goblin king? Second … a stand-alone? The summary hinted at too much heartbreak for it to not have a sequel and I’m not the biggest fan of fantasy romance as stand-alones. Every time I was about to buy this book, I had to admit to myself that the only thing persuading me was the beautiful cover and everybody’s anticipation and excitement over its release. However, after many reviews read and a sequel announced, I have decided to give it an honest try. So, wish me luck.

Sword and Verse by Kathy McMillan

This book has been sitting in my TBR pile for forever but for some reason, I always forget to order it.

The Diabolic by S. J. Kincaid

When I read about it’s newly released sequel The Empress, I knew I had to read this series.

Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa

The first in The Bargainer series, this book intrigues me so much, possibly because the main character is a female bounty hunter siren with a dark past and that sounds badass.

And that, fellow bookworms, was my book haul. I am still unsure which of these are going to make it into this month’s TBR but hopefully I can fit most of them in because my curiosity is definitely reaching its limit on some of these (with the exception of This Darkness Mine which I recently finished) . Why can’t I just lock myself up in a cozy little reading nook with a pile of books and re-emerge into the real world again only after I am satisfied (ahem, a.k.a never) ? Why, oh WHY, book Gods?!

Let me know which of these you have read and how you liked them, so I can have an idea of which to include in my November TBR ~
