December Releases To Look Out For!

Ok, so I know I’ve said this in every New Releases post but I can’t say it enough: NEW MONTH MEANS NEW BOOKS!!!!! And that, my fellow bookworms, is enough to want to live another day. I was so happily surprised to see the wide variety of books coming out this month, as I felt November releases to be a little lacking in the diversity department. From a long Goodreads list of this month’s upcoming releases, I plucked the ones I am most excited for to share with you! Hopefully, you’ll be just as intrigued as I am and add some to your TBR!  AND THEN WE CAN TALK AND RANT ABOUT THEM AND RATE THEM AND WRITE BEAUTIFUL, HONEST REVIEWS!!!

Ok, so here they are:

Year One (Chronicles of The One #1) by Nora Roberts

year one

A blight has spread out across the world, changing the world as we know it and leaving only the immune and those gifted with magic. Lovers Lana and Max, along with a strange assortment of unlikely heroes, travel west towards a new beginning.

Rated four and a half stars on Goodreads and out Dec. 5th, this book sounds amazing and for some reason gives me the feeling it’s not just another “we-need-to-save-the-world-from-this-horrible-but-mysterious-epidemy” kind of book.

Ever the Brave (Clash of Kingdoms #2) by Erin Summerill

ever the brave

I have not yet read Ever the Hunted, but I have heard great things about it and it’s high on my TBR. So I’m just happy I don’t have to wait for the sequel.

Out Dec. 5th.

Cloaked in Shadow (The Dragori #1) by Ben Alderson

cloaked in shadow

“For fans of elves, shapeshifters and elemental control.”

I mean, shut up and take my money already. This promising YA fantasy, out Dec. 18th and rated 4.71 stars on Goodreads also has a leading homoromantic love story which it’s really hard to find in Fantasy. I can’t wait to see what Alderson has in store for us. Also, this cover is simply stunning.

What Remains True by Janis Thomas

what remains true

“In this mesmerizing drama, one life-altering event [a family member’s death]  catapults a family into turmoil, revealing secrets that may leave them fractured forever . . . or bind them together tighter than ever before.”

Out Dec. 1st ( today! ), this drama promises some serious heartbreak and ugly crying. Tissues a la ready!

Instructions for a Secondhand Heart by Tamsyn Murray

secondhand heart

I’m truly excited for this book. On my This Darkness Mine book review I mentioned how I liked the way Mindy McGinnis portrayed the main character’s trails through her heart transplant because I felt there weren’t many books out there that tapped into that very painful but very real topic. So when I found this book in the list of upcoming releases, I couldn’t click on it fast enough.

Out Dec. 5th.

The Love Letters of Abelard and Lily by Laura Creedle

Two teenagers – one with ADHD and one with Asperger’s – connect through their mutual love for ancient love letters and struggle to breach the differences their conditions create. Out Dec. 26th.

Last Suppers by Mandy Mikulencak

the last suppers

Serving as a prison cook, Ginny Polk serves every inmates last meal and struggles to come to terms with what most people believe to be truth, justice and mercy. Out Dec. 26th.

Whore by Willow Aster

Out Dec. 26th, this intriguing contemporary romance novel follows the story of New Orleans’ highest paid prostitute and her journey to redemption.

Degrees of Love by Lisa Slabach

degrees of love

Susan, Matt and their two sons are the picture of family goals, but underneath their perfect façade, a troubled and dysfunctional marriage prompts Susan to seek what she needs elsewhere and soon she must face a difficult choice.

I’ve always thought extramarital affairs are much more than just ‘cheating’ and have more to them than what meets the eye, so I can’t wait for this one.

Out today!

The Vanishing Season by Joanna Schaffhausen

the vanishing season

It’s been a seriously long time since I’ve read a good crime thriller and I’m hoping this will be the one to break the spell. Out Dec. 5th.

Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West

Kasie West writes the sweetest, loveliest books ever and her romances are always on point. She is definitely an auto-buy author for me since The Distance Between Us and The Fill-In Boyfriend. Out Dec. 26th.

Here, There, Everywhere by Julia Durango and Tyler Terrones

here there

Contemporary YA romance that seems to have all the necessary elements to make it a great book. Sign me up for Dec. 19th.

What are some of the books you are most looking forward to this month of December? Did any of them make it into my list? Let me know in the comments.
