Hello there, fellow bookworms!
As you all know, much to our luck, there are hundreds of piles of magical words printed out every month, words strung together to create worlds , characters and stories that have the power to alter us forever. Alas, we cannot have them all, but thanks to Goodreads’ upcoming releases list , we are able to hand-pick our way to the ones that appeal to us most. Here’s my list of February releases that got me saving up and counting down the days to their publication:
The Queen’s Rising (Untitled Trilogy #1) by Rebecca Ross
People divided depending on their mastery over one of five skills?
Two rival kingdoms in the brink of war?
Rightful queen reclaiming a throne?
Vengeful and disgraced lord with suspicious intentions?
Out February 6, this young adult book promises political intrigue in a unique fantasy world.
Immortal Reign (Falling Kingdoms #6) by Morgan Rhodes
FINALLY! The Falling Kingdoms saga is over, which means I’ll be starting it next month. Such high expectations for this series, I’m hoping it will not disappoint. Otherwise, I’ll have six huge hardcovers sitting unread on my shelf.
Out Feb. 6.
Ink, Iron and Glass (Ink , Iron and Glass #1) by Gwendolyn Clare
I will not even attempt to describe what this book is about. There is more than one world, a science called scriptology and a secret society of gifted people. One word: intriguing.
Out Feb. 20.
Tempest and Slaughter (The Number Chronicles #1) by Tamora Pierce
Student mages shaping a kingdom’s future… I mean, is this perfection or what?
Oh, and one more reason to check out this book on Feb. 6: it’s by TAMORA PIERCE aka The Queen of Fantasy.
Mei, a Taiwanese-American girl, has had her life planned out by her parents from a very young age. Now how can she break free from their master plan and find the way to live her own life as she wishes?
Out on Feb. 6, Goodreads promises this to be ‘an incisive, laugh-out-loud contemporary debut’ and I’m so here for it! Are you?
Broken Beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia
Girl with perfect life suddenly doesn’t have a perfect life anymore…
Kami Garcia also wrote the Beautiful Creatures series, along with co-author Margaret Stohl, and after going through the first two books, I called it quits on the whole thing. Who knows, maybe this book will be the one to take Garcia out of my blacklist.
Out Feb. 6.
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang
A parisian prince living a double life: by day an unmarried prince looking for a betrothed and a cross-dresser by night, becoming fashion icon Lady Crystallia with the help of his dressmaker, Frances.
A ‘romantic tale of identity, young love, art and family.’ Feb. 13 can’t come fast enough.
The Rogue Queen (The Hundredth Queen #3) by Emily R. King
Out Feb. 13 for those looking forward to the continuation of The Hundredth Queen Kalinda’s journey. I know I am!
Cadaver & Queen by Alisa Kwitney
Two words: Frankenstein. Re-telling.
Out Feb. 27.
Don’t Forget Me by Victoria Stevens
What is February, the month of love and thus, the month of heartbreak, without a book guaranteed to make you ball your eyes out? Out Feb. 13.
Also this one:
When Light Left Us by Leah Thomas
Out Feb. 13.
AND this one:
This Heart of Mine by C. C. Hunter
Out Feb. 27.
On your marks, get tissues, ready, WEEP!
